Volunteers for the Loombah Project will be required from May 2nd to June 28th to constantly monitor the fish trap and translocation process. This is a 24/7 requirement with camping available onsite and toilet facilities provided. The small campground is camper trailer/caravan accessible and can hold up to five medium sized vans. There is more room at a nearby campsite. People attending either induction day can also stay in Benalla, which is an easy half hour commute.
- A minimum of two and a maximum of four volunteers are required at any one time.
- Fishing from personal craft (kayak, canoe only) in Loombah and McCall Sey Weirs, which are closed waters, will be permitted for volunteers in residence with some provisos. There is limited bank access. Fishing Ryans Creek will be available for the first fortnight, after which it will be electrofished.
- No dogs permitted.
- All volunteers must be members of the Australian Trout Foundation. If you are not already a member, you can join here.

How to register as a volunteer
- First, register your Team details: Teams consist of 1 – 4 volunteers.
- After saving your Team details, you can register for volunteer shifts:
- Please register for Loombah Monitoring shifts on two or more consecutive dates.
- Each shift requires at least two volunteers, with a maximum of four. Please select shifts listed as “More volunteers needed“. Shifts where “Enough volunteers have registered” already have a monitoring team of at least two, and do not need more volunteers.
- Induction is compulsory: Your team must register for one of the Loombah Induction Days, on 2 May or 30 May (included on the Shifts registration screen).
